DGNB International

A DGNB Consultant has basic knowledge of the DGNB System and its certification process. Consultant training is addressed to those who are interested in the DGNB certification system, but not in the auditing of building projects. The additional expertise required for project auditing is taught in Module 2.

Admission requirements for Module 1a/1b:

Completed academic studies of architecture, civil or construction-related engineering, natural sciences, economics or building physics and

• 2 years of relevant professional experience after master thesis
  or
• 3 years of relevant professional experience after bachelor thesis  or
• training in the real estate or construction sectors with 5 years of relevant professional experience

A DGNB Auditor plays a central role in the certification process, and is involved with building projects from the planning phase through to completion and DGNB certification. The auditor is the link between the DGNB and the project planning team, and can optimally advise the team during the entire planning and construction process – bringing in know-how about all aspects of sustainable building and a thorough understanding of the DGNB System criteria, certification process and necessary documentation.

The DGNB Auditor registers the project to be certified with the DGNB and provides the required documentation, while at the same time handling the communication and coordination with the DGNB.

Admission requirements for Module 2:

Completed academic studies of architecture, civil or construction-related engineering, natural sciences, economics or building physics and

• 4 years of relevant professional experience after master thesis
  or
• 6 years of relevant professional experience after bachelor thesis or
• at least 8 years of professional experience and involvement in planning processes for sustainable building.

Pathway to the Qualification as DGNB Auditor

1. Online registration for training by DGNB Academy
   
2. Review of the applications by the DGNB Approval and Review Committee
3. Completion of the relevant modules by the admitted participant
4. Following successful report submission and passing of Exam 1, the DGNB Consultant certificate is granted by the DGNB
5. Following successful Conformity Inspection of a real project or submission of a report on a model project,  the DGNB Auditor certificate is granted by the DGNB
